The Great Hall was a storm of tension as Holy Queen Vyzoa barked orders through the chaos of the surprise assault.
“Galfiz, lead the civilians. Evacuate them to the High Sanctum immediately!”
“By your command.”

Galfiz knelt, her head bowed to her sovereign. Her pitch-black greatsword hung like a shadow against the brilliance of her gold Vision-Seal and her sun-darkened skin. Vyzoa had assigned the kingdom’s finest swordswoman to the evacuation for a reason: she was the ultimate insurance against any unexpected intruders breaching the holy ground.
“Werezia, join her. Be the shield for our people.”
“On it~”

With a languid reply, Werezia hoisted a massive, white-enameled buckler onto her back. Like Galfiz, her ironclad defense was a fail-safe the city couldn’t afford to be without.
“Lizreu, protect the Hierarchs. “

“And as for—”
“As for that beast? We’re gonna put it in the ground, right?” A raspy, impatient voice cut her off.
“Are you sure, Bernaz?” Vyzoa countered. “This isn’t some lowly stray. This one has teeth.”

The lightning Vyzoa had witnessed was no natural phenomenon. Judging by the sheer output of energy, they were facing a beast of Greater-class or higher.
“Bring it on. Hell, I could take it alone,” Bernaz sneered, a defiant smirk playing on her lips. With her cropped blonde hair and skin-tight combat suit, she looked every bit the predator. Four gun-type Blitz units flickered into life, hovering around her like loyal hounds. As a sharpshooter rivaling Vyzoa herself, the thrill of a high-stakes hunt made her blood sing.
“Izdayl and the others are already engaged. I’m moving out—keep up if you can.”
Without looking back, Vyzoa leapt from the Great Hall’s window into the open sky.
“Heh. Who do you think you’re talking to?”
Bernaz spat the words and dived after her. Above the city, the air turned to ice as the wind began to howl.
